Description

This is a high quality network pan/tilt outdoor security camera from Panasonic.  Once hooked up to the internet you can monitor this camera from a remote computer or cell phone.  This is great when you need to keep an eye on something from a distance.  It has good picture quality.  Has a motion detect feature and two way audio.  I bought these new for a dyi home security project and ended up not needed them.  I have two listed, so if you buy them both I'll combine shipping.  The box has only been opened by me to confirm the contents.  Free shipping by UPS Ground to continental US.  Contact for other locations shipping cost. You can check out the specs here:  http://www.beachaudio.com/Panasonic/Bb-Hcm331a-p-58386.html I have not used this camera, but bought it based on favorable reviews.  Here are two I found: Review 1 Pros: Picture quality in the day is very good, and at night it's not so bad, even with minimal amounts of light. Easily connects to the Internet. Can send snapshots via email or FTP. Has a neat "motion detector" feature as well. You can view up to four camera pictures on the web page at a given time. Very good weatherproofing -- has survived 2 inch/hour rainstorms, as well as 115 degree heat. Cons: Zoom is a digital zoom, so it's not that useful. The built-in microphone does cancel noise very well. It seems to take a while to call up the camera web page from a browser (even over the LAN). Other Thoughts: Overall, a very nice camera. We have four of these around our house, for security when we travel. I have the frontyard camera upload an ftp image to our public web page every minute. We had a problem with kids in the neighborhood ringing the doorbell and immediately running away, so I set up the front door cam so that it emails me five photos when it detects motion -- very handy! I think that this is the best camera of its kind. Review 2:   I installed this camera on the windowsill of our unheated-in-winter (unless we're there) cabin in the mountains in Colorado - looking out at the view there. These Panasonic IP cameras can be pricey, but the higher the price - the more bells and whistles you get (this one, for example, can take the cold). Installation is a breeze - little to no knowledge of networking is required (though it's helpful in order to understand what's going-on) - and the seamless set-up of free web monitoring through the included DNS service is a huge plus. The picture and video is pretty darn good, considering it's just a 300K pixel camera (as are most in this and lower price ranges), and the motion sensor really will e-mail you a photo when something triggers it (if you've set it up to do so). I've got two more less-elegant Panasonic cams in my home for watching the cats (and any "visitors") when we're away, and they've operated for months in trouble-free fashion. If you've got a wealth of networking knowledge and a skinny wallet you can buy the less-costly, brand-X, IP cameras, set-up your own, free, Dynamic DNS account, open the ports on your router, copy the IP addresses from one place to another, and piece-meal it all together - or you can spend a little more and let the Panasonic camera and the included software do it all for you.
